Any U.S. citizen who will be 18 or older on November 3, 2026 may vote this year if they:
Eligible voters may vote at any county designated vote center between 6 am and 6 pm local time on Election Day. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, May 5, 2026. General Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
In-person early voting at specific locations is available for 28-days before the election, ending at noon local time, the day before the election. This includes the two Saturdays immediately before the election. Early voting for the 2026 General Election begins on October 6, 2026 and ends November 2, 2026 at noon local time.
There have been several efforts in the Indiana General Assembly to slash early voting in recent years. Vote early, protect the vote!
You are eligible to vote by mail via absentee ballot if you have a "specific and reasonable expectation that you will be absent from your county of residence" during the entire time from 6 am to 6 pm local time on Election Day.
To vote absentee by mail, a voter must first complete an application to request a vote-by-mail ballot and make sure it is RECEIVED by the Porter County Election Board or Indiana Election Division 12 days before the election (October 22, 2026, for the 2026 General Election).

An eligible voter who is unable to independently mark a paper ballot or ballot card due to blindness, low vision, or a physical disability that impairs manual dexterity may use the combined ABS-VPD form. Approved voters will be provided a link to the online OmniBallot tool that incorporates screen reader technology.
An eligible voter may request a bipartisan election board visit them to cast a ballot IF they meet one of the following conditions:
Military service members on active duty away from their permanent (Indiana) residence or an individual who currently resides oversees but is otherwise eligible to vote may submit a Federal Post Card Application, Standard Form 76, no sooner than 8 days prior to the election.
